Sunrise Virtual School (SVS) is committed to providing quality education virtually with a culture that emphasizes on lifelong character and holistic growth among our learners. To do this, we have established a corporation with meticulously planned organogram, where every staff feel valued and where roles are crystal clear which enables us to collaborate towards the goal of giving our clients quality, relevant and holistic educational experience to every learner.
it is the responsibility of the parent to ensure they pay school fees for their learners. When enrolling children at SVS, parents are advised of the fee structure and it is imperative that parents understand and commit themselves to fulfilling these obligations. The seriousness of this commitment cannot be overemphasized and parents must understand that the school will only be able to run if the parents commit and fulfill this critical obligation. Parents have to ensure they evaluate and understand the fees structure as provided to them and seek clarification where need be.
Paying the School Fees is a Moral and Legal Obligation
Parents who enroll their children at SVS assume a moral and legal obligation to pay school fees. It is also the responsibility of parents to notify the School Management if they are experiencing difficulty with the payment of fees.
The SVS Board has the responsibility -on behalf of the school community- to review and recommend fee levels. The key factors taken into consideration when adjusting fees include: inflation of operating costs, chief of which includes salaries, staff career advancement trajectory, and profit targets.
The Board, in carrying out these duties, will make every effort to ensure that the increases in fees are reasonable and communicated in a timely manner to allow for parents to plan and make re-adjustments to their school fees budgets.
The Board will ensure to give parents sufficient fee increment notice of not less than 30 days.
All matters relating to school fees reductions or inability to pay are treated confidentially.
We believe that access to education changes lives and affords every learner a chance at success. In line with this, SVS does not charge admission fees or assessment fees. We however do not rule out a possibility of charging such in the future, where the scope of work to be done before admission is outside the usual scope.
Student Assessment
Our customer care personnel and teachers have been trained to assess the student’s entry behavior and determine the most suitable level for the learners. We do allow parents to have their learners access class before admission for the learners to have a feel of learning environment. This is meant to give the parent and the learner a perspective in to how classes are run which often help with making the decision to enroll. Often this is done before parents pay any fees, and it’s to a maximum of one day.
After test class, the parent is expected to decide if they wish to enroll and upon deciding to do so, they are supposed to register themselves via our website/portal, after reading service terms and conditions agreement.
After registering via our portal, the student will not be able to access class until the fees have been paid.
The fees charged per term/semester, however, parents are free to contact the accounts and make monthly payment arrangements. Parents are expected to ensure any special arrangements are made in writing.
Students admitted to SVS before half term will be required to pay the full term’s fees whereas those admitted after half term will be charged 50% of the fees.
Parents may choose to pay school fees in advance and such will be amortized with the future academic terms/years.
Student Withdrawal
Should parent decide to withdraw or deregister their learner from SVS, or should SVS wish to terminate or withdraw a leaner for any reason. Both SVS and parent, will give each other a one academic term/semester (3 months) student withdrawal/deregistration notice, or pay one term’s fees in lieu of notice.
Notice by the parent should be IN WRITING to principal@sunrisevirtualschool.com copy to admin@sunrisevirtualschool.com and receive an acknowledgment IN WRITING from the principal. The notice should clearly mention the student, the admission number and the last date at SVS, which should be a minim of one term or 3 months into the future. This gives the school ample time to realign teachers and service provider engaged to cater for the needs of the learner, which require a 90 day notice.
Fees for the notice period will be due and payable before release and clearance of the student.
Tuition fees are charged every academic term. The fees vary with the seniority of the
class the child is in. Tuition fees encompass the cost of direct teaching staff, study materials -which includes exercise and text books- as well as the overheads associated with running the school.
Every student in SVS must join at least one club of the following; Ethics & Character Club, Leap Hub Incubation, Tech Hub, or President’s award. The fees are prescribed on our website and may change from time to time. Club fees are due and payable together with the tuition fees on or before the 15th day of the first month of the semester.
Different clubs may involve other costs for various activities for the club, and these will be advised by the club patron, and in each case the parent will be given a one month notice, and such shall be paid for separately, through SVS official payment gateways.
Being a virtual school, we plan for frequent students physical meet ups. The meet ups take several forms such as sports day, family fun day, culture days, career days, educational tours etc. Such meet ups attract expenses and the parents pay for these costs separately, as and when communicated. SVS does not add any markups on the meet up costs, and only students who have made payments 48 hour before the event are guaranteed entry.
Meet up costs shall be paid through bank details provided below, or through Mpesa Till number 4228644.
Discounts
SVS does not ordinarily offer discounts to students as all fees levied have been stringently budgeted for. However, exceptions will be made for:
Siblings: Parents with more than one child at the school will be afforded a discount. The discount will be exclusively on tuition fees and will work as follows:
The siblings will receive 10% discount on tuition fees, which will remain fixed for any subsequent children.
Early Payment: Fees as displayed on our website include a 5% discount for parent who pay full termly parents, which is not included in monthly fees.
Students on special discount will not be eligible for early payment discount.
